As Queen, she became harder, more unyielding, and colder by necessity.

Hera Here is from the animated series Star Wars Rebels, and I'll say right off the bat that so far I have only been able to watch one season of that because the rest isn't available to me yet. I don't care about spoilers though. I also haven't read any of the last padawan comics (I plan to), though I will soon be reading "a new dawn".

Timeline wise, Hera fits into canon about fifteen years or so after the end of the clone wars, she's a twi'lek pilot who is part of the rebellion and beyond that takes all sorts of jobs to keep herself and her crew fed and to keep her ship the Ghost running.

I don't know much about the EU but please tell me all about your characters and I will absorb that information like a sponge, I would love to come up with AUs for us to play because that is my jam.

Have seen the new movie so no worries about spoilers there. Very up for all sorts of timeline shenanigans to smash young Hera (she's about 24) against people but can also play her as an old lady.

Basically anything goes so let's just come up with fun stuff to do, yes?

Hera is one hell of a pilot, very much about doing the right thing and sacrificing for the sake of others, and has a very kind and caring nature though it is often paired with a pretty snarky sense of humor. Fandom tends to refer to her as "Space Mom".

and apparently, they never karking get to retire either. fett's not big on choosing sides in this first order vs the republic nonsense, not so long as it doesn't affect his people, but that won't hold out forever. he does this job for ren and then the man owes him.

that's the only thing worth anything in a galaxy as constantly in upheaval as this one.

the storm gives him some degree of cover as he stalks the girl across the planet's surface. a flash of lightning illuminates his blank visor, the emotionless mask that's as much a part of him as anything.

this seems too easy, so he doesn't trust it and he doesn't like it. no dark lord in history's ever been scared of a single nobody from the outer rim for no good reason. he wants to know the reason for this one. so for now, he lurks on the roof, and watches her for a moment. ]

[ the lightning startles rey, making her jump like a skittish lamb as she continues her trek. she's not used to storms like this, she's used to storms that blow sand so hard it blocks out the sun and chokes every engine in it's path, and most people. she's used to sand and heat; the green of takodana had been disorienting after most of her life in jakku, the forests of d'qar had been equally disorienting up until ren grabbed her.

(she tries not to think of all the ice and snow on starkiller base, it's gone now.)

rain is still new and exciting. and a little bit scary. part of her wishes chewbacca were here with her, but she's glad he'd stayed with the ship. this was only meant to be a pit stop to gather particular supplies for the resistance while they made their trip, not a get lost in the rain stop. definitely not a fall directly into a puddle that's more like a sinkhole stop.

she yelps as she faceplants in the water with a splash muted by the rain. yeah, big tough girl to be afraid of. she's so fucking scary. grr. ]

[ For all the effort that had gone into finding Luke, more time still went into tracking down the second of two mothers who'd lost their children to the darkness within the Force. When Ben lost himself and became Kylo Ren, decimating Luke's padawans, it was Mara who had escaped with Rey and hidden her away. She knew better than any of them what Kylo Ren would be capable of, even if Leia did not want to believe it.

She'd left Rey there without anyone to trace her back to her real parents, to keep her safe, and Rey swore to herself that when she found her, she would be understanding of that fact. Her father (it was odd, still, not to think of him as Luke Skywalker, but instead as "Dad") had asked that of her in the same breath with which he'd explained the truth of it, and she knew his hope was that, armed with the truth, she would be forgiving.

Leaving Chewie on board the Falcon, she makes the trek across the planet on her own until she finds her on whatever outer rim garbage dump of a planet she'd squirreled herself away on for the same reasons—or maybe different ones. Rey wondered what it had felt like for her mother all this time, living with the choice she'd made but knowing she had to make it. ]

[ it's on nar shaddaa that she finds her - a planet that has, if anything, only gone downhill in the last couple decades, as if it had far left to fall. traveling from one shady informant to the next, rey definitely gets an eyeful of a distinctly urban flavor of scum, everywhere she looks.

however, just as she's trying to track mara, mara's trying to figure out who's following her. and she's got years of stealth training on her side, which is probably why when rey goes to explore the junkyard she's led to, she hears a blaster safety switch off behind her and a few cold words uttered out of her mother's mouth, as she surveys the strange woman from behind. ] Hands behind your head. Nice and slow.

You've got one minute to tell me who you are and who sent you.

[ In many ways, Nar Shaddaa reminds her of Jakku—or it would, if Jakku were anything but barren wasteland. There's something homey and reassuring about finding that she understands so acutely how the people work, though, and how they respond in all the same ways; everyone is looking out for themselves. It's easy to predict people who are looking out for their own interests because they rarely surprise you.

Her intelligence leads her to a junkyard, and she's almost ready to give up and start back at square one, believing she's come all this way for nothing, when a voice sounds behind her. Slowly, Rey raises her hands; there's a time to do something reckless, and there's a time to wait for more options—this is the latter.

A blaster, the one Han had given her, drops out of one of her hands as she raises them behind her head. A gesture of open surrender, she hopes. ] My name is Rey.

[ Slowly, she begins to turn around, catching a glimpse of red hair curling out from around the barrel of a blaster. Rey gulps, a hair trigger from the end of her journey, a selfish diversion from what the galaxy actually needs her to do. It would serve her right. ]

And I was sent by my father, Luke Skywalker.

[ It hadn't been easy, slipping away from Uncle Luke and running away to join Jacen. But Ben knew it would be worth it. If he could save the galaxy... if he had the ability to do that, he had to try, right? ]

[ it was even less simple for jacen, who had to draw on his ability to vanish in the force to even powerful jedi such as luke in order to draw the master out to change down what amounted to an illusion. the jedi master, however, was no fool, and there had been a brief... altercation, of sorts.

jacen was glad he'd chosen to mask himself, at least, but when he emerges from the cockpit to go and see the boy as the ship starts its journey through space, there's little concealing the injury to his arm, that's soaked his dark sleeve with blood. still, he's calm and collected as he offers him a smile. ] You've done well, Ben. You've taken the first difficult step on a journey that will make you a true hero.

[ Ben unbuckles his seatbelt (one of the first things his mom taught him was how to ride safely when Dad was flying), and stands when Jacen— Master Jacen?— enters the room. He's still unsure whether he's done a good thing, but he's hopeful that everything will turn out alright.

Except he notices something about Master Jacen. ] What happened to your arm?

anyway, so it's that opening scene on Jakku, only instead of Kylo Ren and Poe having a staring contest, it's Poe and Jacen. Yaay.]

Hi. And can I just say your eyes look nice in the light of smoldering wreckage. You wanna talk now or should I keep going?

[ caedus' levels of not amused are at maximum. he nods once to a trooper to his left, and the helmeted soldier turns to fire on more of the fleeing citizens. he feels them winking out in the force around him, allows himself a sense of satisfaction that there'll be no traitors escaping this village today, lets that fuel his determination as he returns his gaze to the pilot's. there's that unnerving touch of yellow impinging on the iris, only just beginning to form, but it's unnatural enough on him to make it hard to look away from. ] You know what I'm here for. This is your chance - renounce your treasons and deliver it to me - or meet the fate of all who stand against the Galactic Alliance.

[Poe's practiced smarm fades as the citizens are gunned down as he swears under his breath and struggles for about half a second to get back on his feet before he remembers he can't. the unpleasant sight of Jacen's gaze isn't much better and when he turns back to look, he feels a twinge of hurt- not for himself. nah, jacen was never his particular friend, but there's a girl elsewhere whose eyes would look a sight different in this mess.

He remembers the days when he pretended he couldn't tell them apart.

Trying to get out anything more than a sound like he swallowed his own tongue, knowing what the cost of his continued stubbornness will probably be is difficult, but he manages something, a bit calmer, but with no less humor. he's not afraid for himself. he didn't exactly choose this life due to an overabundance of concern for his own health] Nah. You're doing this wrong. Have you considered bribery?

[Recovering from his injuries had taken time, time that Finn would have preferred to spend conscious, helping his new friends with fighting the good fight. Instead, he had spent it in a hospital bed, hooked up to machines that helped knit his body back together, healing from the lightsaber wounds.

When his eyes finally opened, the first word out of his mouth was her name. Rey. Poe had been the one to tell him that she was gone, off looking for Luke, Chewie there to keep her safe. His instinct was to run- not away from the fight this time, but to find her, to make sure she was safe, that the bastard didn't track her down and finish what they had started. But he wasn't strong enough to go, and one look from the General told him that she wasn't going to let him out of her sight just yet.

In the days following, he did his best to help out wherever he could. He was still weak, prone to tired spells, easily winded. But he was also a soldier- or had been trained to be one. He could push through that pain if he needed to, and right now, he needed to distract himself from his worry. Physical labor is good for that, puts the body to work and lets the mind shut off- or that's the idea, at least.]

[ at heart, even after joining the resistance, corran is still a security officer, and that means that every new face gets treated to his scrutiny around here. this guy in particular - well, he showed up with han solo, and corran knows just how much trouble corellians tend to bring around, not least of which because he is one.

so he pretends to just be watching him work for a moment, holding out a flask to offer him when he's done. ] Finn, is it?

[As observant as he tries to be, Finn is a little easily distracted right now. There's just so much going on. He's scattered, trying to be everywhere at once, trying to earn his keep. So when a voice speaks up, uses his name, he glances over, a little surprised.]

...Yeah, that's me. [He glances down and takes the flask, taking a small, tentative drink from the stranger because no one taught him that was a bad idea.] And you are?

Undercity under seige! Following the assasination of a powerful crimelord, the underworld is thrown into chaos. Concerned for a potentially negative outcome, Master Yoda proposes a plan: Obi-Wan Kenobi, with the aid of Senator Padmé Amidala, will proctor the peace talks and re-establish control on Coruscant. Pressured to end local gang violence, delegates from several factions agree to meet on neutral ground; however, after three days sequestered in a low-level cantina, violence breaks out and the negotiations begin to fall apart...

[ The laser pistol he... appropriates isn't exactly standard issue for a Jedi, but Padmé's an exceptional shot and it's looking as if he can use the backup. It's hardly the peaceful thing to suggest, but Kenobi presents the opportunity with a well-timed flourish anyway. ]

I don't think we'll be welcome here for very much longer.
