Struggling against darkness of her own, she nevertheless was named the Sword of the Jedi and was the person to hunt down her brother turned Sith Lord Darth Caedus.

That's nonsense."❞ Raised from youth to be a special operative for Emperor Palpatine, Mara was a top notch Force assassin and spy, who was compelled to follow the Emperor's final order after his death - to kill Luke Skywalker. However, things didn't turn out that way, and she grew to not only respect Luke, but to be redeemed and train as a Jedi and eventually marry him. A proud, tough woman on the outside, Mara is capable of deep compassion for those who earn her loyalty, but tends to have a sarcastic, dark sense of humor due to her experiences.		» Tenel Ka Djo JEDI KNIGHT/QUEEN OF HAPES ❝"My lineage is tainted by generations of bloodthirsty, power-hungry tyrants. I am not proud that I was born to the royal family of Hapes. I do not wish my friends to know that I am heir to the throne, because I have done nothing to earn it, choose it, or deserve it."❞ Born a princess of the venomous Hapes Consortium, Tenel Ka identified more strongly with the traditions of her mother's people, the Dathomiri witches, often seen as a barbaric clan of rancor-riding Force users. Trained as a Jedi in her youth, she kept the truth of her royal lineage secret from her fellow Jedi, which included Jaina - and her future lover Jacen Solo. Tenel Ka was forced to become Queen of Hapes eventually against her own wishes, and had a secret daughter with Jacen, turning against him when he became Darth Caedus. Incredibly serious, she comes off as almost entirely humorless, and has sported only one arm ever since Jacen accidentally cut off the other in their youth. As Queen, she became harder, more unyielding, and colder by necessity.

She believed that order could only be restored to the galaxy by implementing a strong handed new Dark Lord, and she conspired with the fallen Jedi Vergere to create a new Sith Lord and help them ascend to the galaxy's throne. They set their sights on Jacen Solo and she was instrumental in his subsequent temptation and fall, guiding him to become Darth Caedus.		» Boba Fett (FANDOM) ❝Everyone dies. It's the final and only lasting Justice. Evil exists; it is intelligence in the service of entropy. When the side of a mountain slides to kill a village, this is not evil, for evil requires intent... There is no greater good than Justice; and only if law serves Justice is it a good law... I bow to no one and give service only for cause.❞ The only unaltered clone of Jango Fett, Boba was raised as the bounty hunter's son, and followed in his footsteps to become one of the galaxy's most fearsome hunters. Eventually, he became the Mandalore, leader of the Mandalorian people, and even eventually lent their aid to the New Republic against the invasion of the Vong. He agreed to train Jaina Solo in Mandalorian techniques to aid her in killing her brother, Darth Caedus. Irreverent, cunning, and callous, Fett nevertheless carries a strong sense of justice, moral obligation, and a code of honor.

Do it on Luke's.❞ Corran's been a lot of things - ranging from a Corellian Security Force investigator to a Rogue Squadron fighter ace, eventually embracing his family heritage to become a Jedi Master in the New Jedi Order. A highly skilled pilot, Corran values his family greatly and was at first uncertain about becoming a Jedi, because he felt like it would involve giving up a lot of his personality. Very competitive, proud, and with a wry, sometimes irritable sense of humor, he's managed to develop his determination and analytical way of approaching situations into great benefits to the Jedi Order.		» Han Solo CANON OR EU FLAVOR ❝He was a headshot waiting to happen.❞ The consummate scoundrel, Han Solo was an orphanturned Imperial military officer who broke from service when he saved the life of a Wookiee prisoner who would become his best friend and co-pilot. Becoming an ally of the Rebel Alliance in their fight against the Empire, he met his future wife Leia Organa, and they eventually had a family... Before which point canon and the EU diverge quite a bit, but his life sucks either way, pretty much.

[ Tears well up in Rey's eyes—unwitting and unwelcome. In all her ferocious hope and determination, she had never once expected that the best would come of it. That she would meet her mother. That she would get the opportunity to train with her.

She sniffs them back and nods quickly, eager and ready. ]

Great. I've got a ship. We can head back to the Resistance base on Yaga Minor—General Organa will be glad to hear you're with us.

Leia-- She's still leading them, then?

I doubt anyone could relieve her of the position if they tried. This war is hers. It's in her blood. [ As it's in mine, she says with her eyes, searching Mara's face for hints of herself. The shape is similar enough, but Rey hasn't spent an awful lot of time looking in a mirror. The nose. The lips. ]

[ mara's face twists into a grimace, but it's one of approval, and she nods once. That sounds like leia. It's nice, really, to know that for everything else that's been worn down by the galaxy, that's been lost to itself, that someone's managed to maintain something. ] More so than you might know.

What do you mean?

[ Not one to mince words, Rey sees that mysterious thread of information and tugs at it. ]

[ well, she's perceptive too, it seems. ] Let's just say, Skywalkers always seem to be at the roof of things in this galaxy.

If that's true, then aren't they— [ She stops herself, realizing— ] Aren't we just as much to blame for the state of things as we are capable of fixing them?

[ at least she's skilled at not flinching ] I think that sums it up pretty well, actually.

All the more reason you need to come back with me.

[ right. that part. ] We'll go to Leia. [ not luke. not yet. ]

... Why are you avoiding him? What happened?

That's... complicated. [ and of all the people she doesn't want to get into it with ur probably top of the list, rey ]

There seems to be a lot of that going around. [ Things between Han and Leia, she'd gathered, hadn't been easy before he'd passed. In fact, she suspected it had been quite nearly thirty years since anything felt like it made sense between them. One more on a list of things to blame Cry-lo Ren for.

But he couldn't be blamed for whatever wedge drove between her mother and father. And though it doesn't meet Rey's fantasy of her parents, none of this has. Still. It hurts, imagining what Leia must be going through without Han, knowing that they'd never really had the chance to settle their accounts before they'd lost him on Starkiller, so she can't help but point it out. ]

Fine. Leia it is. But you should know, before we see her, that something happened while you've been ... wherever it is you've been. Han isn't with her. Kylo Ren killed him.

[ wow that's like someone dropped a moon on her.

she'd thought-- she knew on some level-- that something had happened to han, but the two of them had never been close enough for her to feel the waves of exactly what it was. and if that first part didn't gut her, the second part sure does. she turns away, her hand clenching into a fist, but she raises her other hand over her mouth, afraid that she's going to be sick.

it takes a moment to pass. ] No...

I'm sorry.

[ The words tumble awkwardly from her mouth, as though they're a muscle she has not had the opportunity to flex often; she doesn't know what else to say. ]

I'm sure he was like family to you.

[ All things considered, he essentially was. He was to Rey as well, though she didn't fully understand the literal nature of that assumption at the time. Now, though, she's left in the lolling awkwardness of trying to find the words to console the mother that left her on a desert planet that raised her up without the ability to properly console anyone for a death that she had witnessed, that had ripped her apart. It would be a lie to claim she wasn't at least somewhat chagrined by that turn. ]

[ about that.

if she weren't reeling from shock and pain and renewed betrayal, she'd have to laugh.

too bad all the humor seemed to drain out of the galaxy years ago. ] I need to talk to Leia.

[ Understanding comes out in a nod. ]

We'll need to return to D'Qar to tell her about Luke anyway.

[ Which isn't a conversation she's looking forward to, honestly, but she has a feeling that Leia already knows. The Force has really saved her some awkward engagements with Leia by a long shot tbh. ]

Did you come here on a ship, or a transport?

The Millennium Falcon.

[ she specifies only because she can guess that it will renew the sting of han's death. ]

You have the Falcon? [ wat ]

You've missed a lot.

[ In some ways, it's begrudging. Leia and Han have parented her in an effort to make up for what she's missed, never fully understanding who she was, and losing Han felt more like losing a father than finding Luke ever felt like finding one again. Mara wasn't there to see her grow or to teach her to fly it or to even see Han and Chewie pass it to her by default. ]

There was no one else to take up the chair.

[ Without another word on the subject, her words burning with hatred for the real Solo heir, Rey turns and carries squared shoulders towards the ship. ]

[ her initial shock at the idea fades into something else entirely, particularly given the note of pain and anger in rey's voice, that she can feel shedding off her in waves.

it... seems right somehow. at least it stayed in the family. after a moment, she moves to follow her, a step behind her right shoulder. ] Been awhile since I saw that ship.

Don't get your hopes up. It's been sitting in a junkyard for the better part of fifteen years, and it didn't even look that good when it got there ... [ But despite her warnings, as they approach the airpark where the Millennium Falcon is idling, the freighter looks just as she did twenty, even thirty years ago, rusted panels and all. Rey wastes no time on nostalgia, and drops the cargo ramp quickly for them to climb in. ]

[ mara stills momentarily at the sight of it, her hand reaching up to trail along the hull a bit as she moves slowly up the ramp. nostalgia swells in her breast, memories of good days and bad days, but more than anything family.

it's a nostalgia that turns into a painful knot quickly. ] Where's Chewie?

Finding us fuel for the trip home, I'd wager.

[ Home. The word sticks oddly in her throat, particularly given who she's voicing it to, but Rey doesn't allow herself to linger too long on it, marching up the ramp to clear the singular remaining free bunk of Han Solo's ghost. ]
