open star wars rp.

I've got a fever and the only prescription is more Star Wars.
Comment with one of yours and request one of mine from below.
Feel free to include a prompt (picture, song, thread pitch, etc.) and any AU information if you're playing a non-SW character.
Descriptions of my SW babies within:
» Jacen Solo/Darth Caedus JEDI KNIGHT/SITH LORD ❝Suffering is the fuel in the engine of civilization. Now he begins to understand: because pain is a god... But it is also a teacher, and a bridge. It can be a slave master, and break you--and it can be the power that makes you unbreakable. It is all these things, and more. At the same time. What it is depends on who you are.❞ The first son of Han Solo and Leia Organa, the galaxy expected great things of Jacen and his twin sister, Jaina. Ambitious but analytical, in his youth a pacifist extremist and in his final years the leader of a fascist government and self proclaimed Sith Lord, Jacen's journey into trying to understand the Force and deal with the trauma of being raised in a war-torn galaxy and losing many close to him led him to rationalize great evil, and turn against those he loved in the end. | » Jaina Solo JEDI KNIGHT ❝"I name you the Sword of the Jedi. You are like tempered steel, purposeful and razor-keen. Always you shall be in the front rank, a burning brand to your enemies, a brilliant fire to your friends. Yours is a restless life and never shall you know peace, though you shall be blessed for the peace that you bring to others. Take comfort in the fact that, though you stand tall and alone, others take shelter in the shadow you cast."❞ The only daughter of Han Solo and Leia Organa, Jaina took after her father in many ways, growing to be an accomplished pilot and mechanic, while also completing her Jedi training. A Lieutenant Colonel in the military, and eventually the leader of Rogue Squadron, Jaina is a warrior in every way. Struggling against darkness of her own, she nevertheless was named the Sword of the Jedi and was the person to hunt down her brother turned Sith Lord Darth Caedus.

» Mara Jade (Skywalker) EMPEROR'S HAND/JEDI MASTER ❝"Service to evil is still evil. What you're saying is that doing something wrong isn't really wrong if your motives are good. That's nonsense."❞ Raised from youth to be a special operative for Emperor Palpatine, Mara was a top notch Force assassin and spy, who was compelled to follow the Emperor's final order after his death - to kill Luke Skywalker. However, things didn't turn out that way, and she grew to not only respect Luke, but to be redeemed and train as a Jedi and eventually marry him. A proud, tough woman on the outside, Mara is capable of deep compassion for those who earn her loyalty, but tends to have a sarcastic, dark sense of humor due to her experiences. | » Tenel Ka Djo JEDI KNIGHT/QUEEN OF HAPES ❝"My lineage is tainted by generations of bloodthirsty, power-hungry tyrants. I am not proud that I was born to the royal family of Hapes. I do not wish my friends to know that I am heir to the throne, because I have done nothing to earn it, choose it, or deserve it."❞ Born a princess of the venomous Hapes Consortium, Tenel Ka identified more strongly with the traditions of her mother's people, the Dathomiri witches, often seen as a barbaric clan of rancor-riding Force users. Trained as a Jedi in her youth, she kept the truth of her royal lineage secret from her fellow Jedi, which included Jaina - and her future lover Jacen Solo. Tenel Ka was forced to become Queen of Hapes eventually against her own wishes, and had a secret daughter with Jacen, turning against him when he became Darth Caedus. Incredibly serious, she comes off as almost entirely humorless, and has sported only one arm ever since Jacen accidentally cut off the other in their youth. As Queen, she became harder, more unyielding, and colder by necessity.

» Lumiya DARK LADY OF THE SITH ❝Vergere sacrificed herself so you could assume the Sith mantle she wanted for you. That's the kind of self-sacrifice no Jedi would admit is possible for the Sith, but it's the truth. Take what I have to teach you, Jacen. Take this place and the dark side power it contains. And use them against the forces that are trying to tear this galaxy apart. Restore order. Give your cousin, give the children in your family and your life the chance to grow up in a galaxy without war.❞ Another of Palpatine's elite units known as the Emperor's Hands, Lumiya was almost entirely disfigured on a mission to kill Luke Skywalker, and had most of her body replaced with cybernetics by Darth Vader. She trained at his feet afterwards to become a Dark Lady of the Sith, and plotted the downfall of the Jedi and the New Republic after her masters' deaths. She believed that order could only be restored to the galaxy by implementing a strong handed new Dark Lord, and she conspired with the fallen Jedi Vergere to create a new Sith Lord and help them ascend to the galaxy's throne. They set their sights on Jacen Solo and she was instrumental in his subsequent temptation and fall, guiding him to become Darth Caedus. | » Boba Fett (FANDOM) ❝Everyone dies. It's the final and only lasting Justice. Evil exists; it is intelligence in the service of entropy. When the side of a mountain slides to kill a village, this is not evil, for evil requires intent... There is no greater good than Justice; and only if law serves Justice is it a good law... I bow to no one and give service only for cause.❞ The only unaltered clone of Jango Fett, Boba was raised as the bounty hunter's son, and followed in his footsteps to become one of the galaxy's most fearsome hunters. Eventually, he became the Mandalore, leader of the Mandalorian people, and even eventually lent their aid to the New Republic against the invasion of the Vong. He agreed to train Jaina Solo in Mandalorian techniques to aid her in killing her brother, Darth Caedus. Irreverent, cunning, and callous, Fett nevertheless carries a strong sense of justice, moral obligation, and a code of honor.

» Corran Horn JEDI MASTER/CORELLIAN PILOT ❝Absolutely not. You're not going to the dark side on my watch. Do it on Luke's.❞ Corran's been a lot of things - ranging from a Corellian Security Force investigator to a Rogue Squadron fighter ace, eventually embracing his family heritage to become a Jedi Master in the New Jedi Order. A highly skilled pilot, Corran values his family greatly and was at first uncertain about becoming a Jedi, because he felt like it would involve giving up a lot of his personality. Very competitive, proud, and with a wry, sometimes irritable sense of humor, he's managed to develop his determination and analytical way of approaching situations into great benefits to the Jedi Order. | » Han Solo CANON OR EU FLAVOR ❝He was a headshot waiting to happen.❞ The consummate scoundrel, Han Solo was an orphanturned Imperial military officer who broke from service when he saved the life of a Wookiee prisoner who would become his best friend and co-pilot. Becoming an ally of the Rebel Alliance in their fight against the Empire, he met his future wife Leia Organa, and they eventually had a family... Before which point canon and the EU diverge quite a bit, but his life sucks either way, pretty much.

to mom, from jakku
She'd left Rey there without anyone to trace her back to her real parents, to keep her safe, and Rey swore to herself that when she found her, she would be understanding of that fact. Her father (it was odd, still, not to think of him as Luke Skywalker, but instead as "Dad") had asked that of her in the same breath with which he'd explained the truth of it, and she knew his hope was that, armed with the truth, she would be forgiving.
Leaving Chewie on board the Falcon, she makes the trek across the planet on her own until she finds her on whatever outer rim garbage dump of a planet she'd squirreled herself away on for the same reasons—or maybe different ones. Rey wondered what it had felt like for her mother all this time, living with the choice she'd made but knowing she had to make it. ]
no subject
however, just as she's trying to track mara, mara's trying to figure out who's following her. and she's got years of stealth training on her side, which is probably why when rey goes to explore the junkyard she's led to, she hears a blaster safety switch off behind her and a few cold words uttered out of her mother's mouth, as she surveys the strange woman from behind. ] Hands behind your head. Nice and slow.
You've got one minute to tell me who you are and who sent you.
no subject
Her intelligence leads her to a junkyard, and she's almost ready to give up and start back at square one, believing she's come all this way for nothing, when a voice sounds behind her. Slowly, Rey raises her hands; there's a time to do something reckless, and there's a time to wait for more options—this is the latter.
A blaster, the one Han had given her, drops out of one of her hands as she raises them behind her head. A gesture of open surrender, she hopes. ] My name is Rey.
[ Slowly, she begins to turn around, catching a glimpse of red hair curling out from around the barrel of a blaster. Rey gulps, a hair trigger from the end of her journey, a selfish diversion from what the galaxy actually needs her to do. It would serve her right. ]
And I was sent by my father, Luke Skywalker.
no subject
the barrel dips a bit and that's as much an indicator of how compromised she is by the confession as anything. ] Luke... [ she says the name hollowly, and she wonders when the last time she said it out loud was, exactly.
but luke's not here right now, and the person standing in front of her is.
the daughter standing in front of her. not a girl, but a grown woman, one she struggles to look for herself in, despite herself. not her hair, not her eyes, not her nose, but--
it's there. in the set of her chin as she says those words. that's the girl she remembers, the part of her that she inherited, that luke used to joke about. once upon a time, when there were still jokes to be had. ]
Why are you here? [ it sounds harsh, the moment it's out, but there it is, hanging in the air between them, and it's not an accusation, but a half-plea to know what went wrong that could have brought her daughter away from the safety of the place she was left, halfway across the galaxy to find her. ]
no subject
He sent me to find my mother. [ And she's certain, now, that this is her. This is Mara. ] A great darkness is rising in the Force, but Luke won't train me to fight it. He blames himself for its strength, and he allows fear of what I could become to rule him.
[ She takes a wary step forward, eyebrows lilting upward with an empathic, unspoken plea. ]
But he told me that there was another who could teach me.
no subject
it's so painfully luke, and she feels simultaneously fond and enraged with him in a way that hasn't dulled in their time apart. she's angry at his continued guilt, but staring down her fully grown daughter, she's filled with plenty of her own.
how much of her life had she missed? what kind of a life had she left her to?
had she made the right choice? ] He did, did he. [ she says it a little flatly, a hint of bitter humor underlying the words. ] And is that what you want?
no subject
It's not about what I want.
[ Which evades the question, but seems important to claim. In a way, she blames Luke for not understanding that, and hopes that Mara will see things differently, will understand that the stakes are greater than his guilt and shame. ]
Without the Jedi, the First Order will destroy the galaxy. It'll go right back to the way things were with the Empire in control.
[ And she doesn't know much, but she has heard enough to know that wasn't good—saw enough of Kylo Ren's mind to believe that Darth Vader isn't a great man to aspire towards. ]
I don't want to be strong enough to face them, I need to. We all do.
no subject
these times when they need it most, honestly.
luke's idealism, and her stubbornness. if she felt moments ago that she missed too much of this girl growing up, now she feels very abruptly as if she knows her all too well.
finally, she nods once. she doesn't like this, any of this, but she hates this inaction and resignation more, and she's already lived through the empire's rule once.
she's not going back. ] Good.
[ with that, she holsters the blaster. ] Keep that fire.
no subject
Does this mean you'll help? [ Because um that is a necessary part of this endeavor. She steps forward, hopeful and longing all at once. This is her mother. She's sure of it. But the warmth of an embrace like Leia's seems so far from reality, that she doesn't dare for more than a step in Mara's direction. ]
no subject
There's no talking you out of this. I can see that much in your eyes. If you're going to throw yourself head first at the First Order, I'll do everything I can to make certain you at least have a fighting chance.
no subject
She sniffs them back and nods quickly, eager and ready. ]
Great. I've got a ship. We can head back to the Resistance base on Yaga Minor—General Organa will be glad to hear you're with us.

[ Not one to mince words, Rey sees that mysterious thread of information and tugs at it. ]

But he couldn't be blamed for whatever wedge drove between her mother and father. And though it doesn't meet Rey's fantasy of her parents, none of this has. Still. It hurts, imagining what Leia must be going through without Han, knowing that they'd never really had the chance to settle their accounts before they'd lost him on Starkiller, so she can't help but point it out. ]
Fine. Leia it is. But you should know, before we see her, that something happened while you've been ... wherever it is you've been. Han isn't with her. Kylo Ren killed him.
no subject
she'd thought-- she knew on some level-- that something had happened to han, but the two of them had never been close enough for her to feel the waves of exactly what it was. and if that first part didn't gut her, the second part sure does. she turns away, her hand clenching into a fist, but she raises her other hand over her mouth, afraid that she's going to be sick.
it takes a moment to pass. ] No...
no subject
[ The words tumble awkwardly from her mouth, as though they're a muscle she has not had the opportunity to flex often; she doesn't know what else to say. ]
I'm sure he was like family to you.
[ All things considered, he essentially was. He was to Rey as well, though she didn't fully understand the literal nature of that assumption at the time. Now, though, she's left in the lolling awkwardness of trying to find the words to console the mother that left her on a desert planet that raised her up without the ability to properly console anyone for a death that she had witnessed, that had ripped her apart. It would be a lie to claim she wasn't at least somewhat chagrined by that turn. ]
