HOLLOW ATTACK.  Congratulations! Your character can suddenly (or has always been able to) see ghosts and spirits and things. Which means that you can see the giant monstrous Hollow beast that's come to attack you in the middle of the night. It lets out a hideous roar and rips a hole through your bedroom wall. Fuuuuuuuck.

NEW STUDENT!  As in you've just transferred to Karakura High School. Tag your character into the lunchroom/classroom seat beside Ichigo/something more entertaining, and they can be generally suspicious of each other's lives :'D

DIMENSIONAL DUMPING GROUND.  Either Ichigo's been dumped into some exciting moment from your character's canon, or your character finds themselves suddenly in his. [Somehow they ended up at a carnival. It's evening. They're in the tunnel of love, in one of those stinky and cramped swan shaped boats.

Sadly for them, it broke fifteen minutes ago, and now they're stuck in the deeper part of the "river" where the water's green and questionable at best.

[ How he can even pass for a student is beyond him, as are the orders that put him in such an unsavory position to begin with.

The uniform is cheap, the useless drivel of the teacher is grating on both his ears and nerves, and Kurosaki Ichigo is stationed in the seat beside him.

[Ichigo's had a long, long day, and he's not really paying attention to class. He'd rather being taking a nap, really, since he didn't sleep last night, but that might attract attention, so he just stretches his legs out under his desk and leans back, looking up at the ceiling. Then glancing to the side.

Then doing a double take thataway again.]

[ Being back from the dead has perks. Or ... not such perks. Chalk this one up to things Buffy never knew about Tokyo and kind of wishes she didn't now that she's in town to stop the Slayer line from being ended forever. ... Again. Augh.

Big. Giant. Demon thingies. The holes in their chest give her a big clue on how not to try and kill them, but that doesn't leave a lot of options outside of run. Worse still: it seems as though she's the only one who can actually see them. How is it that there's something in the history of ever that WIllow can't see? Major case of the wiggins from that one, but for now, her priority is in the run department, and in her wake is a slew of property damage as the hollow barrels after her.

And lo and behold, before her she sees an orange-haired guy. Standing there. Great. Sure. Stand around. Invisible monster is going to kill you! Panic mode kicks in and Buffy shouts as she reaches him. ]

Turn. Run. Don't ask questions, just run.

[It takes a second before it registers to Ichigo that the girl running in his direction is running AWAY from that Hollow behind her, because she can actually see it. Her suddenly barked orders however, make that really clear.

His hand slips into his back pocket to grab onto his Substitute Shinigami Badge, and he shakes his head, jerking a thumb over his shoulder]

You keep running! And don't stop until-- Well, just don't stop. [He should probably wait until she can't see this, but hell, she already apparently can see Hollows, and he's not about to wait til that thing's on top of them. He activates the badge, quickly ejecting his soul out of his body and coming to stand in front of 'himself', all shinigami'd out, complete with big ass sword in tow, which he reaches a hand back up onto to take a cool dramatic stance.

He notices, however, that she's still there, out of the corner of his eye and breaks out of his promo shot pose to yell at her over his shoulder:]

I said don't just stand there!

[ When he literally ejects all astral projecty from his body, her eyes widen. Oh. That was ... something. The sword's what really gets her attention, though. It gets her skidding to a stop at his side, turning to glance back up at the monster and then over at Ichigo's disembodied spirit. ]

I'll leave the compensation commentary for later. You're right -- no more standing. Can I borrow that? [ She doesn't wait for permission, just reaches out to try and grab the sword from him, turning sideways to stand beside him and brace for big scary monster impact instead of running from it. ]

[Getting smacked in the face with bits of plaster from your own wall isn't exactly Orihime's idea of a fun wake-up call. Especially at three in the morning. Her hand scrabbles for the hairpins on her nightstand as she rolls out of bed. The shield goes up as she lands awkwardly on her pajama-clad rear, but poor landing not withstanding, it's enough to keep the giant gummy-fingered hand from snatching her up.]

[Give her a second, her brain's still running on instinct and not yet coherent. What's even going on.]

[So apparently, even though he has no shinigami powers anymore, Ichigo can still SEE Hollows, whether that's true or not, since... this thread would be really hard otherwise. /BENDS REALITY TO MY WILL

Also he still just has the uncanny ability to be in the right place at the wrong time, and so his thee AM walk past Orihime's place means he gets to see the thing crashing into the side of her building. Oh no. No no no.

This is all supposed to be over. He runs as fast as his long legs can carry him, bursting through her front door and up the stairs, shouting.]
