that awkward moment when after dating for several years, you walk in the house to find your girlfriend changing out of her superhero costume. yes, that's right, you were dating batgirl and never knew it. she stares for a moment with the cowl in her hands, and then looks down between it and alex before offering weakly: ] Uh... surprise, hon. I had this great Halloween costume idea?

[ reeling in the playboy act and seriously dating had been enough of an accomplishment for alex. it was never something he'd wanted to even consider for the longest time — mostly because of all the secrets. working for a crime family and a secret organization that specializes in stalking/kidnapping people with special abilities … it was a little much. but he was doing it, ok. he was living the dream. and tonight was going to be ~the night~. he'd lay it all out for her, and then … maybe … propose??????

however, walking in to her changing seems to have put a damper on that. he doesn't want to not believe her … but for real tho, she's being pretty suspicious. he pauses in the doorway, watching.]
