how to play.

1. Drop a comment with one or more of your muses. It can be empty if you want me to make a scenario, or you can toss one at me. Prompts are boss. (a word, song, lyric, picture, phrase, a meme prompt, anything). Specify if there's something you do or don't want, otherwise I could throw anything at you: AUs, shippiness, awfulness. You've been warned, son.
1b. If you want to continue a verse we started in another thread somewhere, specify it in the comment or subject line.

2. In the subject line, you can specify any of my muses you might want to play with (including OCs, who have their own list), or you can ask me to pick someone. No muses are off-limits. Otherwise, I'll pick or randomize someone.
Don't be afraid to ask for anybody - if I'm not feeling it, I'll be honest.

That was a thought. [ she takes a breath and starts pacing again. ] But our Constantine went missing with all of the Legends—well, all of them except Rory. And the Waverider is missing with them. So... probably not a bender.

Might want to start with what that lot was last up to, then. [ he yanks out a pack of cigarettes, because he gets the feeling he's going to need a smoke for this ] That you know of.

You really can’t—[ smoke in here, she almost says. sure, they’re not near the medical bay and thus, away from the oxygen tanks. there’s the minor fire hazard, but more importantly, she didn’t really want the smell of cigarettes in the cortex. ] Why don’t we go to the lounge? There’s coffee, alcohol... windows that actually open.

[ he shrugs, digging out his lighter and pointedly not taking the hint ] After you, love.

[ she leads the way, but it’s a bit of a walk and an elevator ride, so she’ll start explaining. ] The Legends have been tracking down magical anomalies that are affecting the time line. A unicorn at Woodstock, a fairy godmother in Salem during the witch trials. Last we heard, they were going to the French Revolution. And that’s when they went radio silent.

These anomalies, as you call 'em - you think they're working together?

Some might be. Especially when word inevitably got out that they were sending them back where they came from. [ she clears her throat. ] It's sorta the Legends' fault that they all got loose in the first place.

'Course it is. Should I ask how, or am I going to regret it?

It’s... [ deep sigh. ] They were fighting this demon Mallus. To fight and defeat him, they had to release him. Trouble is, that weakened the barrier between dimensions.

Setting a demon free into our realm never goes without consequences.

I take it I know whose call that was.

Actually, it wasn't him. It was more of a team decision, after plan A failed. And John insists that he is not part of the team.

Never was good at teams. Alright. So now we're onto Plan C.

More like Plan B for this problem. Plan A was for Barry, with the help of the Time Bureau, to run back through time to different anomaly sightings. See if we could find them. And it was working. Sorta. But speedsters, time travel, time wraiths. We had a close call.

Heard of a lot of things in my days, but time wraiths aren't one of them.

I guess you haven’t heard of the speedforce either, then?

Assuming that has nothing to do with junkies, then no. Can't say I have.

We don’t know a whole lot about it. It’s a force, it’s an extra dimensional space, it’s a source of power. Speedsters use it to fuel their powers, but they can use it to travel back and forth in time. Trouble is, you do too much of that, you garner the attention of time wraiths. Basically, speedster boogeymen.

And I imagine there's a trick to defeating such a thing. Or sending it back where it came from.

Sending it back where it came from is the thing. They aren’t fond of intense sonic waves.

Doesn't sound like an impossible feat. What's the catch?

They're freaky fast? Which given where they're from makes sense.

Even things that are fast can stumble over a cleverly placed block. Or into a trap.

I hope you’re right. But that’ll be something to test for a different time. There’s still the need to figure out where this world’s you and the rest of the Legends are.

Lucky for you, scrying's easiest when you know a person well.

Think I might be a bit familiar with one of the blokes in question.
