the return of the revenge of just rp it.

how to play.1. Drop a comment with one or more of your muses. It can be empty if you want me to make a scenario, or you can toss one at me. Prompts are boss. (a word, song, lyric, picture, phrase, a meme prompt, anything). Specify if there's something you do or don't want, otherwise I could throw anything at you: AUs, shippiness, awfulness. You've been warned, son.
1b. If you want to continue a verse we started in another thread somewhere, specify it in the comment or subject line. I'd be down for revisiting any of those.
2. In the subject line, you can specify any of my muses you might want to play with (including OCs, who have their own list), or you can ask me to pick someone. No muses are off-limits except for those that have no icon uploaded on the list. Otherwise, I'll pick or randomize someone.
2b. Muses I would really love to play right now, in case you are having a hard time choosing: Hawke, Hannibal Lecter, Selina Kyle, Fox Mulder, Cigarette Smoking Man, Serafina, Pepper Potts, Lois Lane, Jacen Solo.
3. just rp with me. if something jives really well, maybe we can continue it in another one of these later, sort of like a super casual verse. if it doesn't, it doesn't.

he couldn't believe that it did. he can see the difference in her memories, the way her instincts turn her towards bravery and selflessness, while all of his urge him to give into this monster that he's worked so long to tame. ]
Have you considered that maybe I'm not so heroic? [ his words twist bitterly ] That maybe I'm the bad guy?
no subject
I don't believe that. [ Stubbornly, ] The bad guy wouldn't have tried to save me from that van. Edward, what are you so afraid of?
no subject
That you're setting yourself up for a great deal of disappointment.

that's a dangerous line of thinking, and he presses his lips together for a moment before he says: ] I suppose we'll see.

[ Her tone clearly closes the book on that, decision made. Edward doesn't seem to earn a say of his own in matters, though given Claire's general countenance, that's not precisely a surprise. What he has to offer her is too profound to be trifled with, and she won't let herself lose out on something like that due to fear or uncertainty. Which is either a very Gryffindor thing to do or a very Slytherin thing to do. Take your pick. ]

Reluctantly, she got to her feet. ]
And the bad guy definitely wouldn't be so concerned about tardies.
[ But with that last bit of sass added, she pulled her backpack onto her shoulder. ]
Will you just do me one favor? Give me some kind of warning, if you're going to avoid me for days because of this. Getting jerked around like this sucks when you're the only person here that I feel like I can trust.

the word echoed through his head, his lips parting slightly as if to protest it, but he found himself unable - or unwilling - to do as much. he didn't deserve anyone's trust, least of all hers, and yet the simple apparent truth of it was exhilarating in a way he had no longer considered himself capable of.
he had been hoping that she would take his dismissal as a brush-off, angrily storm away as it were. considering what was happening in class today, he had already made up his mind to skip - it was only wise for everyone for the vampires to pointedly avoid blood, after all. slipping away seemed the easiest way to do it, but now it was if she had read his mind, and he was surprised at the guilt that it stirred in him. ]
... Then I imagine it's only fair to warn you that you're right, after all. I'm not concerned about tardies.
I'm not going.

What—
[ it doesn't quite process. the words get caught in her throat and the flutter of her gaze seems like her entire brain doing a factory reset. like it doesn't know what to do under these conditions, with this input. but she doesn't budge either. ]
Why?

[ Because yeah, she can tell that's what this is. Teenage boys smh. Even the immortal ones. ]

she can just follow him and figure out what the hell he's up to. ]
Sure. See you next time you decide to show up to class.

how in the world is she supposed to shake this girl? ]
no subject
and, really, for a teenage girl, she's uncannily good at this? almost like her dad's a secret agent and she's had to hide superpowers for a long time or something. ]

instead, his every muscle stays tight, and he pushes open a side door, escaping towards the parking lot. it's raining lightly, and he hopes that might be enough to deter her as he heads for his car. ]

The final bell rings. She's late for class. She kicks at a puddle and heads back inside, soaked like a dog. The teacher asks if she got lost ?? ? and the class laughs. ]

"Okay guys. I want you all to take one piece from each box," he says, snapping gloves on. "The first should be an indicator card." he grabs a white card with four squares marked on it and displays it. "The second is a four-pronged applicator-" he holds up a nearly toothless hair pick. "And the third is a sterile micro-lancet." he holds up a small piece of blue plastic and splits it open. the barb is visible from a distance. "I'll be coming around with a dropper of water to prepare your cards, so please don't start until I get to you. You'll need to prick your finger with the lancet and put the blood on the prongs." ]
