how to play.

1. Drop a comment with one or more of your muses. It can be empty if you want me to make a scenario, or you can toss one at me. Prompts are boss. (a word, song, lyric, picture, phrase, a meme prompt, anything). Specify if there's something you do or don't want, otherwise I could throw anything at you: AUs, shippiness, awfulness. You've been warned, son.
1b. If you want to continue a verse we started in another thread somewhere, specify it in the comment or subject line. I'd be down for revisiting any of those.

2. In the subject line, you can specify any of my muses you might want to play with (including OCs, who have their own list), or you can ask me to pick someone. No muses are off-limits except for those that have no icon uploaded on the list. Otherwise, I'll pick or randomize someone.
2b. Muses I would really love to play right now, in case you are having a hard time choosing: Hawke, Hannibal Lecter, Selina Kyle, Fox Mulder, Cigarette Smoking Man, Serafina, Pepper Potts, Lois Lane, Jacen Solo.

[ he gets a perverse amount of pleasure out of these moments, where he gets to accuse her of pitching something unbelievable in the middle of one of his own far-fetched explanations. she makes this little face every time. it's great. ] They're not going to leave the heads out on the porch to freak out the neighbor kids.

[ her expression is only tempered by the fact that it's late, she's tired and they had a long drive here. the one solace about this place is that at least her motel room has a working air conditioning unit. she sticks her chopsticks back into the container in a silent signal of defeat. ] That still begs the question of who these people are. It wouldn't be easy to get someone to talk to a sketch artist even if there had been witnesses. [ a beat; she takes another slurping sip of her drink. ] Was there a witness?

[ she's not even going to dignify that with so much as a response, agent mulder. just a look. ]

We've still got one lead. [ he flicks the photo ] Our amateur photographer.

[ that's something, at least. that's what's signaled in the brief shrug of her shoulders before she officially abandons her food, too stuffed to even think of eating anymore - except, perhaps, a fortune cookie. ]

And what time are we meeting this artist?

Not until tomorrow morning. They're supposed to meet us a local diner. [ he tosses his own cookie wrapper toward the waste bin, because getting up is hard work. and misses. that can just... stay there. ] Well? [ he nods at hers ]

[ her first instinct is to go and fetch it before she remembers this isn't her room, after all; she unwraps hers after a beat, cracking the cookie in half and peeling the thin strip of paper free. ] "The fortune you seek is in another cookie."

Should we call the delivery guy back and say you got shammed?

It could very well be your fortune, right? C'mon, what did it say?

[ he makes a great show of cracking his open, spreading it out as he leans backwards in his chair, reading it with a cheeky grin. ] "The more seeds you sow, the more flowers will bloom."

[ his grin widens as he tilts his head to look at her around the slip of paper. ] Apparently, I'd better start sowing.

[ she presses her lips together in a firm line, both eyebrows raised at that particular attempt at humor. if he's looking for a stronger reaction of amusement from her, he'll have to settle. ]

Don't worry. I'm sure you'll have plenty of opportunity for your efforts to take root somewhere.

Maybe the seeds in question are theories about this case. One of them's bound to stick if we throw enough of them at the wall, isn't it?
